Josephine has over 20 years of experience in providing IPO advisory, risk management, compliance, UK ABC, FCPA, internal auditing, business process improvement, US Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, forensic investigation advisory services to various Multinational Companies across China, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, India, Hong Kong, Middle East and the UK.  

She had been with KPMG Malaysia and Shanghai for almost 10 years and left KPMG Shanghai as Director in 2019. She also held in-house position as Regional Controller, Head of Internal Audit, Compliance and Forensic Investigation for several multinational companies across APAC, namely Astra Zeneca, Johnson Matthey, RGE China and Brookfield Asset Management.  She has assisted various organizations which seek for IPO in Malaysia, HK, US, UK and China to assess their internal control system. 

She had successfully led many companies in the areas of enterprise risk management, internal control, compliance, internal audit co-sourcing, corporate governance, Chinese-SOX, US-SOX, J-SOX compliance projects. Her clients included various multinational companies/ financial institutions listed on NYSE, Nasdaq, Bursa Malaysia, HK, Shanghai and Japan Stock Exchange which involved in numerous industries including pharmaceutical, life science, hotel, property development, logistic, banking, manufacturing, specialty chemical, real estate, renewables, asset management companies. During her directorship with KPMG Shanghai, she provided direction, oversight and accountable for the execution, quality and delivery of professional auditing, risk, compliance advisory services to the clients. She has helped developed new and innovative methodology, approach, tools and capabilities for Data & Analytics Enabling Internal Audit and continuous compliance monitoring projects for clients in Life Science industry.   

She has vast experience in setting up audit and compliance function in the APAC region, developed and executed audit programs and approach to address emerging risks. She also assisted the management to develop and managing risk and compliance framework, structure, policies and procedures across China and rest of APAC.  She also helped clients in setting up Ethics & Compliance Hotline and investigation protocol, policies, and procedures in the region.  Besides, she also assisted client’s BOD to identify critical risks (present and potential) the business unit faces, the changes or evolvement of risk, and the practical mitigating actions for the business units.
